The Broken Bear T-Shirt
From the ruins of Bordesley Hollow emerges Brutus, a bear never meant to be loved.
Born on a factory floor that valued profit over warmth, Brutus was stitched together from leftovers and mistakes. A reject toy, pulled too tight, his heart sewn closed before it ever had the chance to belong. While others were boxed and sent away to loving homes, Brutus was discarded, left among broken parts to wait for the fire.
And the fire came.
No one knows what sparked it. Some say the factory finally tired of its own cruelty. Others whisper that the toys began to scream. Flames tore through the building, consuming metal, plastic, and everything Brutus once called family. When the smoke cleared, he crawled from the ash changed, haunted, shaking, but still breathing.
This piece captures Brutus at that moment: surrounded by fire, eyes burning with fear and defiance, his stitched body carrying memories that won’t stay buried. The artwork is a symbol of PTSD, survival, and the invisible scars left behind when something is broken but not destroyed.
Printed on deep black premium cotton, the back graphic tells Brutus’s story in full, a scarred silhouette forged in flames. On the front, a minimal emblem rests near the heart, a quiet reminder of the toy that keeps going even when it doesn’t know why. Inside the neckline, the Mystic Blue insignia marks the belief that healing begins by facing the darkness, not running from it.
This isn’t just a t-shirt.
It’s a story about rejection, trauma, and endurance.
About surviving when you were never meant to.
Because even the discarded deserve a place to belong.
